Storrs, Connecticut Location of Storrs in Connecticut Storrs is a village and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Mansfield inside easterly Tolland County, Connecticut, United States.
It is dominated economically and demographically by the existence of the chief campus of the University of Connecticut and the associated Connecticut Repertory Theatre.
It was titled after Charles and Augustus Storrs, two brothers who established the University of Connecticut (originally called the Storrs Agricultural College) by giving the territory (170 acres (0.69 km2)) and $5,000 in 1871 According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the improve has a total region of 14.8 km (5.7 mi ), of which 14.7 km (5.7 mi ) is territory and 0.1 km (0.04 mi ) (0.53%) is water.
